JANUARY 2010

CHRISTMAS TURKEY DINNER:  December 13 at St. Mary's Parish Hall was a wonderful afternoon!  A huge "Thank You" to Cenovus Energy for sponsoring the event and providing some volunteers as well.   Your support made it possible for Santa to travel all the way from the North Pole with and enormous bag of gifts.  He brought gifts and smile for everyone!  Cenovus Energy, your support made this a very special Christmas for all!
Another huge "Thank You" to all the volunteers who made the afternoon an enjoyable time for everyone.  We could not have done this without you!!
To the Ecole Francophone Elementary School Choir, your performance was outstanding.  Not only did you steal our hearts, you stole the show from Santa Claus!  Thank You!

THANK YOU to Dave and Pat Sunley from Sunley Home Building Center for the beautiful tree they purchased at the Festival of Tress and donated to the Seniors OutReach office!  A truly wonderful surprise!

It is the generousity of Brooks and area business, clubs, and private citizens that make it possible for us to do what we do, and that make Brooks such a great place to call home!

FRAUD ALLERT:  Alberta Consumer Contact Centre has received a complaint that someone saying they are with "Phillips Lifeline" is canvasing door to door in areas of Alberta selling an emergency pager for ambulance service to seniors in case of an accident in the home and they are unable to get to a phone.  They are asking for payment by credit card as well as your Health Care Number so you can be "reimbursed" from AHC. DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION OUT to anyone knocking at your door or on the phone!! Phillips Lifeline does not canvas door to door.  If you have any concerns about anyone canvasing at your door, please call the RCMP at 403-794-4400.
